As early as 2003, the City of San Clemente, CA, envisioned a welcoming portal at the northern edge of their Village by the Sea in what is commonly known as North Beach. This pristine ocean front enclave contains many significant historical structures, but was under utilized and in need of esthetic renewal and connection. Ole Hanson, city founder, often spoke of North Beach as a community hub, alive with activity; but the dream was not yet realized.
After years of study and discussion, the Downtown Strategic plan, as crafted by local community and civic leaders, sought like minded developers to activate the North Beach neighborhood through an RFP process (Request for Proposal). Little American Business (LAB Holding), a local community-building developer, was honored with a unanimous City Council and community vote in June 2006 and entrusted with a partnership for the renewal of North Beach.
Since that time, Little American Business (LAB Holding) has been working with San Clemente city planning staff, their professional consultants, Design Review board, the Coastal Commission, City Council and a multitude of community and business groups to ensure a project of architectural integrity and a village-scale, welcoming public space. This collaborative and creative process will yield relaxing garden sunset terraces for trail enthusiasts, metro users, bicyclists, beach goers and Beach Club users alike. We appreciate your support, interest and involvement as the process continues…
